Trade
As a nation, we are engaged in fierce competition for global business. Yet our government continues to impose policies, regulations, taxes and fees that put our businesses at a serious disadvantage in the global marketplace. These burdens cost us jobs and ultimately, businesses. Our companies need to be able to compete freely in the world’s markets, and we must reshape government’s role from business adversary to business ally.
As your Congressman, I will:
- Support Free Trade principles that enable US businesses to compete in the global marketplace
- Support legislation that requires a level playing field when foreign governments violate the principles of Free Trade and bias their markets against US companies or products
- Legislate reductions in administrative requirements and regulations that make us less competitive globally, thereby costing US jobs
- Work to eliminate the Capital Gains Tax and substantially reduce the Corporate Income Tax (currently the 2nd highest in the industrialized world at 35%) which are causing companies to move offshore, again costing US jobs
